Fraternal Greetings,
Brothers…I am sure by now most of you are either standing in extremly long financial aid lines, or searching high and low for a textbook from last year. What ever the case, I hope you are full of energy as you gear up for the fall semester. I write this letter after just meeting with your CPR and ACPRs and we are looking to have an exciting year full of music and brotherhood. While you may notice a few changes this semester, just know that the leadership in Province One is looking at each chapter’s best interest.
One of the major changes you will notice, is the date and location of the Fall Kick Off. Instead of having the kick off in early October in NYC…we will be combining the kick off with the Northeast Regional in Delaware. Why are we combining these events? First of all…every Province has been charged to bring as many brothers as possible to this event. Mongiovi and Licthenburg both wrote articles in the current “Red & Black” discussing the importance of these regionals, which they are calling Fireside Conferences. And, since our Fall Kick-Off was scheduled only a month prior, we did not want there to be a conflict of interest as to which event brothers would attend. Combining these events will allow each chapter to focus on getting as many brothers as possible to be in Delaware. I am personally asking every chapter to have at least 75% of their members in attendance. Believe me, this is not an event you will want to miss.
Since the Northeast Regional isn’t held until November, the CPR/ACPRs and I have decided to hold a Province Council meeting in Boston on Saturday, September 25th. More information to be sent out very soon but we plan on starting around 2:00 pm (Kyle Thompson is currently in the process of finalizing the meeting plans for this day…but I wanted to get this message out to everyone asap.) While it is highly encouraged that every chaper have a representative present at the council meeting, anyone may attend. I realize that this is sort of a short notice, but we really want to get the ball rolling this semester and the earlier we start the more momentum we will have throughout the Fall.
Another change that you will see this semester is the role of the CPR/ACPRs. Your three collegiate province representatives have been assigned to different chapters to serve as mentors throughout the school year. Kyle Thompson (CPR) has been assigned to William Patterson, Boston Conservatory, and the NJCC Colony. Gary Shur (ACPR) has been assigned to Montclair, Hartford, and Amherst. Max Heitman (ACPR) has been assigned to Rowan and Westminster. We will discuss this and their roles more in depth at the Province Council meeting.
As always, please contact me with any questions or comments. I am very excited about the activities we have planned for this year. I look forward to serving the Province this year and to seeing all of you at province, chapter, colony, and alumni association events throughout the fall and spring. So let it be for Sinfonia!
Fraternally,
Eric Engelhardt

Leadership Institute … Next Week!
Jul 14th
Hey guys…anyone interested in going to the Leadership Institute next week? One of our CPRs Max Heitman is planning on going, BUT his travel partner had something come up and now is unavailable to attend. They have both prepaid for their registration to the Institute but they were planning on splitting the cost of the travel by driving. So, if you want a cheap way of going to this amazing event…please contact Max asap to discuss the details.

Onward and ever Upward
Jun 30th
Greetings Brothers…as most of you may know, Brother Goss will be moving to Florida at the end of the summer to further his studies in conducting. I have been charged with taking over the helm here in Province One. While Brother Goss has some big shoes to fill, I am eager to work closely with the Province to make this transition a smooth one.
First things first…I need a chapter liaison from each chapter that I can rely on to keep constant communication with. This person doesn’t have to be the President or Secretary…but should be on the executive board of their chapter. I would like to have the name and email of every chapter’s liaison by Aug 1st.
For now, I hope everyone is having a great summer and I look forward to the fraternal work that we will get done over the next semester. If you need anything, do not hesitate to contact me.

Omicron Theta Colony
May 3rd
I am proud to announce that in addition to the seven chapters and one alumni association in Province One, a colony was recently approved. New Jersey City University has been approved as a Phase I Colony. They will work to complete Phase I as the Omicron Theta Colony, since there was a chapter previously chartered at NJCU. I have already named Omicron Alpha at William Paterson University as their big brother chapter. I am confident that the colony members, Bernie Mathews (Colony Advisor), and the big brother chapter will work to their best ability to reactivate OT.

Province Meet ‘n Greet
Apr 10th
Our last province gathering of the year is next Saturday, April 17th at William Paterson University. Omicron Alpha is our host for the day. Please arrive as close to noon as possible. The days activities along with a council meeting will end at approximately 3pm. It is imperative that each chapter send at least two representatives so we can set the budget and schedule for 2010-2011. I look forward to seeing you at Wayne, NJ next weekend.

Sigma Alpha Chapter
Mar 8th
Congratulations to the Sigma Alpha Chapter at University of Massachusetts Amherst on their installation last night. 19 men crossed as Sinfonians in a wonderful ceremony. The Zeta Omega Chapter of at University of Hartford served as the mentor chapter providing Sigma Alpha with a tremendous start as a chapter. In attendance were National Collegiate Representative Benjamin Strack, two UMass faculty, Bbrothers George N. Parks and Fred Omega Pye, brother from Xi Mu (University of Delaware), Omicron Mu (Clarion University), alumni and collegiates in and around Province One. Best of luck to Sigma Alpha!
UMass Activation
Feb 24th
The initiation ritual and activation ceremony for MA Alpha Colony, UMass Amherst, is coming soon! Save the date of Sunday, March 7, 2010. Keep an eye out for more information.
Province One Workshop
Jan 8th
This year due to several factors the workshop will be condensed to one day. The official events are all contained on Saturday, January 23, 2010 on the campus of Montclair State University. Please arrive between 9am and 10am to enjoy breakfast of juice, coffee, and donuts. The days events will begin promptly at 10am. Lunch will be provided with a possibility of dinner as well. (Note: The banquet previously discussed will not happen, but there will be dinner, possibly at your expense.) At the conclusion of dinner everyone will return to MSU for a faculty initiation of a member of the MSU music faculty, PMs and colony members are excused from this portion.
As in previous years all attendees must pay a registration fee of $5 each. This along with your province dues helps to pay for the food and other supplies for the workshop. Which reminds me… PAY YOUR PROVINCE DUES!!!! You will receive more information from your CPR very soon which will include parking information and exact building/rooms.
In summation…. All brothers and colony members must make every concerted effort to attend our annual province workshop. This is the most important event of the year and includes the election of your province officers for the 2010-2011 academic year.
Province One Workshop=Saturday, January 23rd 9am-10pm, Montclair State University, $5 each
